Covid-19 Impact Survey Results

Thank you to those that took the time to fill out the ARCS Covid-19 Impact Survey. We were very pleased to receive 462 responses.

The survey revealed that many of those in our field are faced with a multitude of challenges, including loss of employment, increased workloads, and an uncertain future. Members can find the full survey results and our analysis of what the results mean for our field on our website.

This valuable feedback has resulted in the introduction of a Pay What You Can membership option for 2021, and has allowed ARCS to pinpoint other key actions that will assist our membership as we navigate the current challenges of our field. For more information on those programs, please visit: 2021 Economic Hardship Membership Options.

Please check back in with us for further updates. ARCS hears you, and we are working hard to be a better support to you during this time.

Lucidea’s LAM Grants Database Guides Users to Millions of Dollars in Grants

For many staff in Libraries, Archives, and Museums (LAMs), it’s difficult to carve out time to craft a competitive grant project, find an appropriate grant to apply for, and successfully work through the grant application.

There are resources available, but many fail to cover all areas of the grant process, and many more are too generalized to be effectively deployed in a LAM setting. Very few are comprehensive to LAMs, provide grant specifications, or offer drill down searching. There are no grant templates that allow LAM staff to plug in content and create applications. Basically, there is no all-inclusive LAM grant toolkit.

To solve for this, Lucidea and grants expert Rachael Cristine Woody partnered to provide a single venue to meet the majority of grant needs, and have created a LAM grant toolkit—including a comprehensive grant database spanning Libraries, Archives, and Museums, with opportunities in the United States and Canada. Users can quickly see opportunities that best match their needs with specifications such as: deadline, award range, and project theme—the most important things you must know to determine if the grant opportunity is a good fit. This resource provides LAMs with access to over $200 million annually—especially meaningful when budgets are constrained during COVID.

The toolkit empowers LAM professionals by providing all the information and tools needed to confidently apply for grants. Included is a LAM grant workbook that introduces every typical grant application field and provides four grant application templates. It guides users through each application area, outlines what content is needed in order to be successful, and inspires with four plug-and-play project frameworks.

Lucidea invites you to view and download a copy of the grant workbook here.

Art Services Worker Safety Coalition - Survey

Have you checked out the valuable resources developed for our industry by the Art Services Worker Safety Coalition? If not, let me draw your attention to their website:   www.artservicesworkersafetycoalition.com/

And that's not all! They are asking for your help with a very short survey. Please take a few moments to participate.

Survey statement: In keeping with the Art Services Worker Safety Coalition mission, specifically with regard to person-to-person interactions and safety initiatives in the workplace, we have created this very brief survey to better understand how safety protocols are being implemented and by whom. Your input will be anonymous and invaluable. Our aim is to better understand in which areas we can be of maximum service to our members and colleagues as workplaces continue to re-open with varying degrees of implementation and training. Ultimately with your help, we seek to continue to create universal resources and guidelines to enrich and ensure safety for all workers during this time.
