About

Elaine Vogel Keller, independent registrar and art management consultant, has over 30 years experience in the field of registration and project management.

After graduating from Indiana University in 1985 with a BA in Journalism and Art History, Elaine began her museum career as an intern in the exhibitions department at Cooper-Hewitt Museum, NY where she continued to work as an exhibitions assistant for four years. Elaine then moved into the field of registration and worked as Collections and Acquisitions Manager at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, NY and later Exhibitions Registrar at the American Federation of Arts.

Since relocating from New York to Zurich, Switzerland in 1995, Elaine has had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of exhibition projects throughout Europe, Asia and the US. Elaine currently manages art collections for private collectors as well as working with museums, galleries and foundations on exhibitions and collections projects.

In 2003 Elaine launched an informal Swiss registrars’ roundtable which evolved into swissregistrars, a national professional organization for Swiss museum, gallery and freelance registrars and exhibition managers. Elaine has been the president of swissregistrars since 2007 and remains an active member of the European Registrars Committee of Chairs.
