Kate DePetris is currently working as the Head of Collections Management for Artemis Fine Art Services, where she is developing an expanded suite of stewardship programs that focus on applying museum standards to the bespoke management of private, corporate, and institutional fine art collections, with all of Artemis’ resources at their disposal (crating, transportation, installation, storage, etc). Born and raised in Dallas, she studied visual art at Dallas’ Arts Magnet high school, Booker T. Washington, and obtained her bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of North Texas. Kate began her career in fine arts administration and logistics at Artemis, where she grew an extensive client base and took on exceedingly complex projects. After two years, Kate moved to New York. She worked as Registrar for Lehmann Maupin, a major contemporary gallery, facilitating all loans and consignments on behalf of a dynamic roster of more than forty international artists. She then worked with vast private and corporate New York-based collections, acting as sole steward of more than 7,500 objects across multiple properties. With eight years’ experience in the field, Kate has developed a keen eye for minimalism, nostalgia, and honest, elevated design. Her passion, knowledge, and experience underline her commitment to safeguarding fine art collections and preserving our cultural record.
