Board of Directors News

The Board of Directors met for their annual in-person meeting last week in Chicago at the Adler Planetarium. The board used the two-day opportunity to discuss structural and organizational changes to the organization that will help it streamline the processes for providing members with more/better programming and resources, and will help ARCS better position itself to take advantage of new opportunities.

Among other things, the board of directors launched a task force to assess the feasibility of hiring full time staff for the organization, the future of the virtual conference will look like, created an IDEA committee to help further guide and implement the ARCS IDEA Plan of Action, adopted two years ago, and made structural changes to the way a number of committees operate within the organization. Information regarding these plans and changes will be communicated to members over the coming months.
