Message from the President

The ARCS Board of Directors is committed to advancing IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) principles. These values remain central to ARCS’ mission, vision, and strategic plan for the future.

The Board is steadfast in its efforts to promote IDEA within ARCS and the collections professional field as a whole. This commitment has not wavered, and we will continue to advocate for broadening access and fostering inclusion in every way we can.

To further these efforts, the ARCS Board of Directors is actively working on the establishment of an IDEA Core Committee, a project that has been in development for several months. This committee will consist of representatives from all ARCS committees, with direct support from the Board. The primary objectives of the IDEA Core Committee is:

1) Continuously overseeing, reviewing, and updating the ARCS IDEA Plan of Action
2) Ensuring the Plan’s implementation across the organization and its membership.

We value and welcome input from our members regarding IDEA initiatives. Your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions are vital to our progress. Please don’t hesitate to share your feedback with us. The Board will continue to keep you updated as we make further strides in this important work.

Thank you for your support as we work together to build a more inclusive and equitable future for our profession.

Chris Helms
President, ARCS Board of Directors

Internship Stipend Program

Keep your eye out for our Fall ARCS Internship Stipend Recipients - they are taking over our Instagram the week of February 11th to share their experiences.

Spring 2025 - Open for Applications!

ARCS is committed to advocating for paid internships in an industry that remains inaccessible to many. ARCS offers internship stipend opportunities for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Once again for Spring 2025, ARCS will be offering a $1,000 stipend plus an annual membership to three applicants pursuing internships in registration and/or collections management.

Applicants should already have been accepted into an unpaid internship program and will be asked to submit a letter of support from their internship supervisor with their application materials. Applicants in internships with a limited stipend can also apply but those in unpaid internship programs will be prioritized. International and U.S. based ARCS members may apply for internship stipend opportunities.

Candidates are asked to submit their application materials by February 21, 2025, and awardees will be notified by mid-March 2025.
