Description

**Please note: The webinar begins at 9:00am PST

Join your colleagues for a one-hour webinar on the ongoing topic of couriers. Over the past year the registration profession, world-wide, has been forced to pivot and change course on a daily basis. The profession has discussed, has defined and promoted the use of book end couriers and installation/deinstallation couriers during the pandemic year of 2020. The profession has shared these new methods and definitions, but it seems some are still trying to re-invent the wheel or shift its direction. As we roll into 2021, and as museums begin to prepare for re-openings, what does this mean for the role of the courier in cultural institutions. Join in on the discussion of advocacy for the courier as it plays an important ongoing role in the best practice for collection stewardship. Our goal during this webinar is to move forward with the definition of standards for the evolving role of the courier going forward. We invite you to come listen to those who play a key role in the training, assignment and implementation of couriers in your institutions. Conservators, Registrars, and Insurance Brokers will share their opinions.

Panelists include:

  1. Eric S. Fischer, Senior Vice President, WTW Fine Art, Willis Towers Watson Northeast, Inc.
  2. Mary Coughlin, Chair of Collection Care Network , American Institute for Conservation & Associate Professor in Museum Studies, The George Washington University
