DESCRIPTION:Mental health plays a critical role in how museum and cultural
heritage professionals function at work\, make decisions\, and care for
collections.  In unstable and challenging times\, as well as in normal op
erations\,  mental health care is recognized as a core component of a hol
istic approach to museum operations and stewardship. Looking at resources
and honest case studies\, this talk will address how mental health of in
dividuals compromises group dynamics and response efforts in emergency si
tuations. \nThe participants will learn how acknowledging\, recognizing a
nd sharing information about stress and signs of mental health challenges
and inclusion of safe practices among museum staff\, are tools for recov
ery. Proactive attention to mental well-being not only benefits individua
l employees but also strengthens institutional resilience\, helping museu
ms respond more effectively to stress\, crisis\, and long-term profession
 al demands. \nSpeaker\nNora Lockshin\, Conservator\, AIC-PA\; Rebecca Ken
