About

Judy Steinberg is an independent arts management consultant based in New York City. With over 20 years of registration experience, Judy has worked with museums and private collectors managing collections and exhibitions.

Currently Judy is the Collection and Exhibition Manager at the American Folk Art Museum where she co-manages the permanent collection, coordinates loans and shipping, and organizes and supervises exhibition installations. She continues to pursue freelance projects.

Recently Judy was the registrar at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, managing the permanent collection, loans and exhibition installations. She oversaw the museum’s historic collaboration with the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de la Habana which culminated in the transport and exhibition of over 200 works of art to the Cuban capital. Her past experience includes management of private collections, and assisting registration departments at such museums as the New Museum, Rubin Museum of Art, International Center of Photography, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. 

Judy is a member of several professional organizations including ARCS and the Registrar’s Committee of the American Alliance of Museums.
