Schillica Howard

About

Schillica Howard is an independent museum professional focusing on collections management. Schillica, pronounced “sha-LACE-uh”, has a passion for the stories that objects tell and works closely with organizations to ensure their proper preservation. Her educational background in Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies and American Studies heavily influence her framework for centering stories that are historically relegated to the margins.

Schillica is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated where she is a member of the Federal City Alumnae Chapter’s Heritage & Archive Committee and volunteers for the Girl Museum. She is on the Leadership Team of AAM's Collections Stewardship (CS-AAM) Professional Network as the Independent Museum Professional Chair and is a founding member of CS-AAM's IDEA (Identity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Committee.
