Regardless of how often we attend conferences and workshops throughout the world, much remains to be learned.  We have so much to share with each other regarding our experiences, our projects, and our challenges.  Each session we attend enriches us, thus enriching cultural organizations everywhere.

Just when it seems that exhibitions could not become more complicated; that all museums are built and finished; that artists could not possibly create anything more challenging to pack, transport or install; that we have seen everything and anything we can think of – someone walks into the office to tell us about this great idea.  Suddenly we realize exhibitions can indeed be more complicated; many more museums are still to be built, with freight elevators too small, insufficient storage, narrow hallways, but so beautiful, unique and amazing; and the next acquisition seems almost impossible to transport.  In that moment we realize – this is a little crazy but HOW VERY INTERESTING.  We have new puzzles to solve.  There are new things to learn.  A great bunch of colleagues is available in the ARCS membership to help!

We hope you will join us in New Orleans and be part of that exchange of knowledge and rich experience.  For our colleagues newer to the field these opportunities to learn and network are important first steps; be here to welcome them.  Maybe become a mentor!

We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans.  Laissez le bon temps rouler!
