Description

Two writers on the subject of compensation in the museum field will set the stage for discussion on the topic. While COVID19 and the Great Resignation have acted like a pressure cooker on compensation inequities, the influential forces that we have control over remain: the board, internal policy and practice, legislation, field-wide standards (as set by professional associations like AAMG, AAM, AAMD and the regional museum associations and also by social media), and unions. Presenters will address some developments within each of these influencing factors, as well as ways to move the needle forward from both employer and employee perspectives. The majority of session time will then be spent on discussion guided by attendees’ input and questions on this rich and complex topic.
