Archaeological sites and Favourites! exhibition and conservation tour.

This double tour is a unique occasion to learn about conservation and preservation of Montreal’s most important archaeological sites, presented in situ at Pointe-à-Callière. The Museum is located on the foundation site of Montreal. The tour also gives you a chance to discuss about the challenge of presenting mixed collections of varied materials in exhibitions design inspired by "open vault" concept which requires constant monitoring of conditions. Come and meet our archaeologists and collection registrars! Transportation and admission included.

  • For all activities a full conference registration ticket must also be purchased. 
  • All off site tours will occur on Tuesday November 7, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm ET.
  • Transportation will be provided and will depart from our host hotel at 1:00 pm ET.
  • Buses will depart the off-site tour locations at 4:00 pm ET with attendees arriving back at the host hotel by 4:30 pm ET.
