Decades ago, a rare and unique item was reported stolen in the City of Dearborn.

The Detroit Historical Society made the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s stolen artifact unit aware and the search has been ongoing ever since.

Recently, the item was located. The FBI was notified and the item was examined and confirmed to be the same as the one stolen years ago.

On Jan. 15, Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad, the FBI Special Agent In Charge Timothy Slater, the CEO and Executive Director of the Detroit Historical Society, Elena Rugh, and Andrew Kercher, the Assistant Chief Curator of the Dearborn Historical Museum will meet at the Dearborn Historical Museum’s Commandant’s Quarters at 21950 Michigan Ave for a repatriation ceremony of the recovered property.
