Congratulations to ARCS President Gabriela Truly
September 5, 2013 | ARCS NewsAfter seventeen years of caring for the collection at the Dallas Museum of Art, Gabriela is moving a little further South in Texas. Starting on September 16th, Gabriela will be the new Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas. She will be responsible for the care of the collection and will be in charge of registrars, preparators, exhibitions and conservation.
Gabriela began her museum career at the San Antonio Museum of Art and The Witte Museum in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, over the past eleven years she has worked to create and organize four International Registrars Symposia (2004 New Orleans, 2007 Chicago, 2009 Chicago, and 2011 Houston). For the past two years she has been one of the leaders in founding the new Association of Registrars and Collections Specialists.
