Keynote Information

ARCS is excited to announce our keynote speaker for the 2025 Conference. 

Linda Norris, Founder of Creative Futures, LLC

Linda helps museums, libraries, archives, cultural institutions, and communities around the world reimagine how they tell stories—making them more inclusive, relevant, and impactful. Now heading Creative Futures, LLC, an informal collective that develops dynamic interpretations, build internal capacity, and foster creative, community-centered approaches to heritage. From 2017–2025 Linda worked at the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, leading initiatives on memory, justice, and cultural resilience. She’s the co-author of Creativity in Museum Practice and a contributor to recent publications exploring the evolving role of museums in civic and social life.

Fall Call for Volunteers Opens September 8

The Nominations Committee will be opening applications for ARCS Members interested in volunteering for an ARCS Committee. All members are welcome to submit applications for any of the open general committee and chair positions. Be on the lookout for opportunities during the open call to learn more about the ARCS Volunteer Experience. 

ARCSInfo.org Website and Association Management System Task Force  - Call for Members

Are you passionate about improving digital tools for collections professionals? Do you have ideas about how ARCS’ website could better serve members, volunteers, and the public? Join the ARCS.org CMS Task Force and help shape the future of our online presence.

About the Task Force

This time-limited task force is charged with researching best practices for website content and membership management systems and recommending platform functionality for a future website redesign. The task force’s final report will be submitted to the ARCS Board of Directors in early 2026. With Board approval, this report will serve as the basis for a Request for Proposals (RFP) for web and CMS development vendors.

The task force is made up of ARCS Board Members, Committee Members, and General Members.

What You’ll Do

As a General Member of the task force, your contributions may include:

  • Attending monthly virtual meetings (~60 minutes, August 2025–March 2026) (No meetings in December 2025 or January 2026)
  • Helping generate a list of similar organizations/websites to interview
  • Assisting with interviews (~15–30 minutes each) of:

    • Peer organizations about their website/AMS functionality
    • ARCS Committee members about internal/back-end needs
    • ARCS staff about backend and public user/front-end needs
  • Drafting short social media posts about:

    • A January 2026 Member Meetup to gather general member input
    • A March 2026 summary of final task force recommendations
  • If attending the 2025 ARCS Conference in St. Louis:

  • Joining a website feedback breakout session
  • Assisting with collecting input from a website suggestion box at the ARCS booth/table

Time Commitment

  • ~1 hour/month for meetings
  • ~1 - 3 additional hours/month for outside work (interviews, drafting content, etc.)
  • This is a limited-term volunteer opportunity from September 2025 through June 2026

Who Should Apply

We’re looking for ARCS Members who are:

  • Thoughtful and collaborative
  • Comfortable conducting short virtual interviews
  • Familiar with how the ARCS website is used—or eager to learn
  • Passionate about improving the resources that support our field
