2025 Spring Internship Stipend Recipient Announcement

We are pleased to announce the Spring 2025 Internship Stipend recipients. These students show a remarkable interest in their respective fields and ARCS is proud to offer this support as they pursue internships in collections management and registration.

Rachel Chen is an undergraduate Art History student at the University of Texas at Arlington, minoring in Museum Studies and Chemistry. Currently interning at UTA’s Fine Art Collections, she is responsible for registering the print collection and assisting with the installation and research for ongoing Asian and Asian-American art exhibitions. With a growing interest in conservation, she is also creating condition reports and developing a proposal for the preservation of a damaged wood sculpture within the University’s collection. As a practicing artist with experience in painting, sculpture, textile art, and even glassblowing, she is deeply inspired by the works she interacts with and feels passionate about the preservation and sharing of art, as an object of cultural significance and as a source of inspiration for future generations.

Currently, a student at the University of South Florida, Yasmin Diogo, is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She moved to Florida in 2019 and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art History with a minor in Queer and Sexuality Studies from the University of South Florida, where she is now pursuing a Master’s in Art History. This spring, she is interning at the Tampa Museum of Art, working with the C. Paul Jennewein Collection, where she is categorizing, researching, and updating object records in the TMS database. Yasmin is passionate about the ways art preserves and tells stories across time, and she is particularly interested in making museum collections more inclusive and accessible. This stipend will support her continued growth as she gains hands-on experience in collections management and collections care.

Drew Lynch is currently a second-year graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts, where her primary research is rooted in African American modern and contemporary art, memory, and archives. She will be graduating in May of 2025 with a Master’s Degree in Art History, concentrating in Historical Studies. Drew is a graduate Teaching Assistant leading class sessions and discussions in areas such as German Expressionism, Art from the Margins, and Illuminated Manuscripts. She also volunteers in the Collections department at the Valentine Museum and is a museum educator. Drew has been studying art since childhood by attending art classes at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts at the age of 7 and is delighted to intern at the same museum 18 years later in collections management for works on paper and photography, helping to prepare for the museum’s upcoming expansion.

Congratulations to Rachel, Yasmin, and Drew! We wish them great success and look forward to hearing about their experiences at the conclusion of their internships.

If you are interested in future stipend opportunities, please follow ARCS updates for the upcoming announcement of the 2025 ARCS Summer Internship Stipend application period. Interested applicants should already be accepted into an unpaid or low-paid internship program. The stipend program is also open to international applicants.
