ARCS 2023 Spring Internship Stipend Recipients

We are pleased to announce the Spring 2023 Internship Stipend recipients. These students show a
remarkable interest in their respective fields and ARCS is proud to offer this support as they pursue
internships in collections management and registration.

Takahito (Taka) Tanaka is currently working towards a Ph.D. in ethnic studies at the University of California, Riverside. He will be interning at the Museum of Riverside in Riverside, CA, Winter 2021 cataloging the Harada Family Archives and learning more about handling archives, historical material and the intricacies of museum collections which is pivotal to his research on the Harada House, a home and National Historic Landmark that was once owned by a Japanese American family in Riverside, California.


In her fourth year at University of California, Irvine, Christina Chau is an anthropology student minoring in archaeology. Christina will be continuing her work with the County of Orange Paleontological and Archaeological collection (COPA) interning under Dr. Jerry Howard and Tracy Kennedy in the spring. She will be focused on improving the overall health of the museum collection by reorganizing and rehousing artifacts and digitizing site records and reports amongst other tasks.


Laura Magaly is a master's student of Art History at the University of Milan and a student of the Logistics and Art Management course in Milan, Italy. She will be completing an internship at the Museo del Novecento in the spring of 2023, assisting the registrar with outgoing loans, the management of art exhibitions, environmental monitoring and during the handling of works of art.
